2016 Jul: Creating a Culture of Caring #MANDELADAY

#MandelaDay

Mandela Day – 18th of July to mark Nelson Mandela’s birthday – is more than a celebration of Madiba’s life and legacy; it’s also a global movement to honour the intentions behind his life’s work which was to inspire people to take action – no matter how small – to achieve change for the better.   The message behind #MandelaDay is simple – each individual has the ability and the responsibility to change the world for the better.

As it says on the Mandela Day website ‘If each one of us heeded the call to simply do good every day, we would be living Nelson Mandela’s legacy and helping to build a country of our dreams.’

One of EcoProducts Foundation’s cherished projects is to support pre-schooling for rural children in the Limpopo (the Baobab Pre-school Program).

Early Childhood Development has been identified as a means of breaking the poverty cycle. Children who do not receive a strong foundation in their early development are found to be stunted academically. By focusing on the correct development areas and adequate nutrition before school-going age, children are given a boost that will help them for the rest of their lives.

Zigodini Pre-School is one of the schools we actively support.  Read this recent blog to find out about some of the challenges this little school has faced.
